Our Aim

Seeing the positive impact this has had on not only our team, but also the other practises involved, led us to believe we could help other local veterinary teams in the same way.

 

At a time when fewer vets want or are able to cover on-call shifts, by releasing a practice’s obligation to fill an on-call rota, we hope this will improve the wellbeing of your current team but also improve the prospects for future recruitment. By working together, we hope to create a situation where the local veterinary workforce is not overstretched and therefore able to provide the region’s pets with the best veterinary care, either at TCVE at night or at their local practice during the day.

How TCVE Works

  • Vet and nurse on-site every night, with extra qualifications in ECC or an interest in ECC.
  • Calls/patients taken 6.30pm-8.30am, meaning your vets no longer have the burden of small animal on-call.
  • In-patients can be sent to TVCE for overnight care. Wherever possible, we do not ‘kick out’ in-patients in the morning, only to be sent back to TCVE that evening.
  • Kit we have at our disposal overnight include: digital x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, EPOCH, BP monitoring, CRI infusions, haem/biochem, theatre. 
  • Subscription fee of £1000, per practice per month (1st month subscription is FREE)
  • Flexibility to provide occasional cover if required by your practice.
